The definition of a miracle to me means having the ability to accept all that happens in life; the millions of stars on a midsummer’s night even though we see very few, the thousands of chances contained in a hat, even though we pick only one, or a piece of writing that completely overwhelms us when it’s closed with the words, “I love you.”

I believe that when we are open, in awe, free-flowing, able to find a way outside of ourselves, miracles can happen.

When I was a child I lived more outside of my house than within. I would often lie down on the bare ground and stare up at the stars in the sky. It was like receiving a free ticket to somewhere else entirely; a place where I could find the difference between what is and what could be, a place where I could find peace when escape was not possible.

And a miracle took place.

Gone are the white cotton pleas, the shreds of eyelet lace, the tears of unanswered questions… and even though I still tremble on the ground beneath me today, the spirit of forgiveness has set me free—free to soar with my magnanimous muse in the miracle of my dreams.

Wishing you peace,

  2. Beautiful thoughts like these are a miracle.

  3. White cotton pleas…just lovely. As is forgiveness. And that beautiful music video. Thanks, Kelly. ❤️ 💛 💙 💜
I’ve been avoiding going out today, oppressive heat. I’m at a bit more peace now.

    • Glad to hear that, that’s a very nice thing to say, Van. 🙂
It’s not as hot today, but still raining here… feel terrible about people in LA and other states where the flooding is so bad… so I really shouldn’t complain.
Hope it’s been an enjoyable day for you indoors. xoxo

  4. Simply devine, I can almost feel what you wrote, I love Ludovico … an Italian Legend and inspiration … this would also harmonise with an image of you laying on your back wandering the skyes … https://youtu.be/fEOJQawykD0 yours sincerely… L M B

    • Hi Luigi! Thank you for your kind remarks. Yes, Ludovico tells the story of life, doesn’t he? Sometimes I listen to him early in the morning when I’m gathering my thoughts.
      And that’s a beautiful song – thank you. 🙂

  5. Magnanimous muse! I love that!!!!

  6. yes, forgiveness, and how we are able to come to it, is a miracle. beautiful piece, kelly.

  7. Such wisdom. I’m glad you got to experience one of life’s miracles, Kelly, without fanfare and yet so very powerful. Hugs ❤

  8. Nature is an amazing gift so many overlook. It offers everything we need without judgement or challenge. It provides sanctuary while simultaneously stimulating the soul with the beauty of its sound and appearance.
    You describe its gifts magnificently.

    • That’s just an incredibly beautiful comment, Jonathan. Thank you. I’m a bit rushed at the moment because I have to hit the road soon, but your words give me peace. Thanks again, have a good day. 🙂

  9. Beautiful reflection, Kelly. I agree with your view of miracles. I often think Nature is our home more than the boxes we live in. We are “of the planet,” symbiotic, and genetically, psychically, and emotionally aligned. Immersing ourselves in that connection can’t help but be transformative. 🙂

    • Yes, transformative for sure and a place where solace can easily be found. I love how you said it is our home more than the boxes we live in, and that we are “of the planet.” That really makes me feel connected to everything.
This was one of the most cathartic pieces I’ve ever posted. I guess I needed to express what the miracle of forgiveness has accomplished in my life and how connected I feel with nature, specifically space. And once again, writing helped me understand more about myself which is transformative as well… yet another miracle that anyone can experience.
Thank you for being there, D. xo

      • True forgiveness was one of the most liberating experiences of my life, Kelly, but I needed to be totally ready and that took a long long time. It sounds to me like you got there. ❤

  10. I love that so much, Kelly! Miracles are not things that happen due to the mood of a higher power. They happen constantly. It only needs an open heart and mind to recognize them. To recognize the big miracle in little happenings. The wonder of how things fall into place in order to make it a whole concept in the long run. Miracles are what we make happen regarding the way we encounter life. God, I could go on and on. This post was very inspiring! Thank you, Kelly!
