I am a writer and poet continuing my practice as a registered nurse, health educator and speaker. I am also certified in cognitive-behavioral group therapy.
I write under the pen name, Kelly Huntson, formerly known as Nurse Kelly on this site. So yeah, I don’t really exist. lol
Seriously though, I am happily married (twenty-four years and counting!) and the proud mother of two young adults and one beloved dog named Ruby.
What else. I love to write! Writing invigorates me as does my profession. I hope both will continue to grow in meaningful ways.
I use this blog as a therapeutic outlet to express myself creatively. At the start, I wrote a few health-related posts that can be found in the menu, but the real joy in writing for me lies in creative expression. I compose poetry on the blog more than any other writing form due to the freedom I find in its structure.
And that’s about it ‘about me’ and this blog! Thank you very much for the visit. I appreciate your readership.

“Creativity is great medicine for all, both the creator and the one who experiences it. It prevents disease and promotes wellness. It is not indulgence, it is fundamental to medical practice.”
Patch Adams, M.D., as quoted in Illness and the Art of Creative Self-Expression by John Graham-Pole (Oakland, CA: New Harbinger, 2000)
